President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will not travel to Moscow (Russia) for the May 9 celebrations, reports Gazeta.uz, citing a source in the government.

As уточняется, on the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Honor, on May 8, the head of state will visit Victory Park and lay flowers at the monument "Ode to Fortitude" and at the Alley of National Heroes.

In addition, on May 8 the President visited participants of World War II and home-front labor veterans, congratulating them on the holiday. At the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense, he warmly spoke with Akmal ota Akramov, Vera Zhuravskaya, Hasanboy ota Khalmatov, and Vladimir Aleysikov, asked about their well-being and health, emphasizing their life path and demonstrated courage.

It is noted that in accordance with the head of state's decree of April 16, special attention and support are being provided to war participants and home-front labor veterans, including preferential vouchers to sanatoriums to strengthen their health.

Earlier, the Kremlin published a list of heads of foreign delegations who will arrive in Moscow. The presidents of Central Asian countries are not listed in this roster.

It is noted that this will be the first parade in Moscow since 2018 dedicated to May 9 without the participation of the leaders of Central Asian countries. This year, the event on Red Square will for the first time in a long while be held without military equipment—the decision was explained by the "operational situation" and the "terrorist threat."
