In Tashkent, the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Criminal Court handed down a sentence to entrepreneur and blogger Sanzhar Karimov, known as Real Sanjik. He was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment to be served in a general-regime penal colony, as well as a fine of 410 BCU.

Karimov was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 112 (threat of murder or use of violence), Part 4 of Article 168 (fraud on an especially large scale), and Part 2 of Article 273 (illegal manufacture, possession, or distribution of narcotic substances).

The decision will take effect after the appeal deadlines expire if no appeal is filed. It was previously reported that during closing arguments the defense insisted on the defendant’s complete innocence, while the prosecutor asked for a sentence of five years’ imprisonment.
