According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the tragedy occurred on May 6 at around 08:30 in the Kasansay district of Namangan Region. It is reported that 28-year-old N. M. and 18-year-old K. I. argued over the chosen graduation dress. After that, the suspect, according to the investigation, stabbed the girl several times in the chest and abdomen and fled the scene. The victim was taken to hospital, but she died from her injuries.

An investigative team arrived at the scene, and the necessary examinations were ordered. A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident against N. M. under Part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“Intentional murder”). The suspect has been detained. 

Earlier, social media circulated information about the alleged motive for the murder: jealousy over a graduation dress.
