An investigation is underway in the Tashkent Region into a high-profile incident in Akhangaran: an active Patrol and Guard Service officer is suspected of abducting and harassing two minors. According to the victims, the events took place on the night of April 27–28.
As one of the girls, born in 2011, said, they were sitting on a bench near their home when a white Spark pulled up. A man in uniform demanded that they get into the car. The girl later explained:
“I thought he was a police officer, and that he definitely wouldn’t do anything to me.”
Instead of any official actions, the minors allege, they were taken out of the city—toward the mountains, to a deserted area beyond a cement plant—where the driver turned off the engine and began to harass them.
According to the family, one of the girls managed to discreetly send her geolocation to her brother. Relatives and acquaintances quickly headed to the coordinates and found the car. They claim the man locked the doors and tried to flee; in an attempt to stop the vehicle, one witness was injured.
The family also says that after the children were brought home, the suspect continued calling and sending messages demanding to be told their whereabouts and making veiled threats.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the man’s identity has been established: he turned out to be an active Patrol and Guard Service officer. He has been fully suspended from performing his official duties. According to the agency, the internal security unit, together with the prosecutor’s office, is conducting an inspection and collecting evidence. If the facts are confirmed, the suspect may face criminal liability. The materials are under special oversight by supervisory authorities.
