Uzbekistan’s Children’s Ombudsman Surayyo Rakhmonova has taken control of the situation related to reports of possible unlawful actions against a 14-year-old girl in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region, the agency’s official channel reports.

The day before, 18-year-old Artyom, who introduced himself as the minor’s brother, recorded a video and claimed that a PPS officer took the girl and her friends at night to a mountainous area in Akhangaran and harassed them. Later, the girl herself also confirmed these allegations in a video address.

At the same time, the regional Department of Internal Affairs refuted the circulated reports, stating that the 18-year-old man is not a relative of the minor. According to the department, the PPS officer arrived at 00:40 to visit his 22-year-old acquaintance, who was accompanied by the minor.

It is currently уточняется that an internal inquiry has been initiated within the internal affairs bodies, and the Akhangaran city prosecutor’s office is conducting pre-investigation measures. The Ombudsman’s office stressed that monitoring of the situation will continue in the interests of the minor.
