Former head of Kyrgyzstan’s GKNB Kamchybek Tashiev has been charged under two articles of the Criminal Code, reports 24.kg. According to the outlet, the charges concern the articles on “violent seizure or retention of power, as well as actions aimed at forcibly changing the constitutional order” and “abuse of official position.”

As attorney Ikramidin Aitkulov said, the case materials mention Parts 2 and 4, which refer to an act committed for the purpose of obtaining benefits and advantages for oneself or other persons, or out of other personal interest, as well as the commission of a crime by an official holding a responsible position. 

A preventive measure in the form of a travel ban has been chosen for the former head of the GKNB; after questioning he left the Interior Ministry building. It is separately noted that the situation regarding former Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushiev and ex-speaker of parliament Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu is unclear — they also фигурируют in this case.
