JSC “Uzbekiston Temir Yullari” announced the launch of a new high-speed electric train route “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” on the Tashkent — Khiva — Tashkent line. As specified in the company’s statement, the first trip from Tashkent is planned for May 3, and from Khiva for May 4. At the time of publication, the one-way fare is 780 thousand soums (about $65).

The train will depart from Tashkent’s Central (Northern) railway station at 07:00 and arrive in Khiva at 14:31. In the return direction, the train will depart Khiva at 07:20 and arrive in Tashkent at 14:51; the travel time will be 7.5 hours. Trips are scheduled three times a week: from Tashkent — on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; обратно — on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Tickets are available at railway ticket offices and online on the website eticket.railway.uz; additional information can be obtained by calling the short number 1005 within Uzbekistan.

It was previously reported that South Korean company Hyundai Rotem shipped the first high-speed train to Uzbekistan on December 10 last year. This marked the first time in South Korea’s history that high-speed trains fully developed domestically were exported abroad.
